The obvious attractions of the Acropolis, the Acropolis museum etc. are ticketed, but there is a lot of history/art to see just walking around in the city.

Graffiti is everywhere in Athens. When we were at the Parthenon preparing to take a family photo a staff member rushed over to make sure we were not getting spray paint out of our bag. I’m certainly not in favour of tags everywhere, but some of it is quite beautiful and/or gets the message across!

I don’t know how to judge or differentiate between graffiti and street art. Defacing cultural antiquity should never be allowed, but, where do you ‘un-draw’ the line?

The tags are on cars, houses, brick walls, rocks, everything. It would be frustrating to keep your property looking fresh. The paint can’t be great for nature. I like seeing power and phone cabinets etc. painted. I expect there are a lot of root causes to unpack before finding the right balance.
