Carbon Conscious COVID-19 Dodging Family Travel Year (2021/22)

Welcome to our site. We are sharing observations & tips/lessons learned on staying safe, decreasing emissions, and homeschooling during our family gap year from 13 September 2021 to August 2022.
We are a Canadian settler family of five. Iβm Laura, a mechanical engineer with interests in public spaces & climate change mitigation. My husband Cameron has an engineering background and works in the water infrastructure industry. He is into COVID data & travel planning. Our kids are in grades 8, 5 and 3 this year.
We rented an electric vehicle for 3 months in France. Our full public charging data (charger information, cost, energy consumed, issues encountered etc.) as well as estimates for our domestic charging consumption & costs are compiled in an Excel file that is available to view or download below:
